VALUES & BELIEFS

Purpose, Mission & Vision

Our Redeemer exists to glorify God by being disciples who make disciples. It is our desire to see lives transformed by the redeeming work of Christ. We are dedicated to maturing in the likeness of Christ. We are compelled to serve faithfully through the love of Christ.

Intergenerational Ministry: Our congregation includes young, and old, married and single. We value intentional interaction between generations. What we do as a church, we do as a family, and encourage all to grow in Christ as one body.

Blended Worship: From hymns of old to contemporary songs, we value the mix of glorious God-centered lyrics. We have multiple teams and individuals that lead His people in songs of praise.

Bible Study: We are committed to His Word and we understand there are many ways to learn and grow in the Lord’s Word. All are encouraged to participate in various forms of Bible Study as a means to grow in our faith and knowledge of God’s Word.

Christ-Centered Expository Preaching: We know we don’t “own” the pulpit. We believe the pulpit is a gift from God therefore the text leads the preaching.

Strong Male Leadership: We value the godly men in our midst who have deep strength to lead. We are grateful to have godly men in our church who love, serve, shepherd, and lead just as Christ has done for His church.

Generous Hospitality: We embrace the opportunity to encourage and care for stranger and friend alike. We are intentional in our fellowship, striving to build a family and community of radical grace. We love to care for “one another” so the gospel can be felt deeply.

Leadership Development: We believe people need to continuously grow in their sanctification and that the responsibility of kingdom work goes beyond just our pastor. Therefore, we are committed to raising up disciples to be better shepherds, Bible teachers, protectors of the flock, and apologists equipped for His glory.

The Bible: We are committed to the inerrancy and complete authority of the scriptures.

Christ Centered: We are committed to loving the Lord and living a life centered in an abiding relationship with our Savior.

Prayer: We are committed to individual and corporate prayer, seeking the will of the Lord.

Leading Lost People to Christ: We are committed to praying for and building redemptive relationships with nonbelievers so they can become a part of the eternal body of Christ.

Spiritual maturity: We are committed to making fully devoted and developed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Equipping: We are committed to training believers to serve within the body based on their spiritual gifts and calling.

Missions: We are committed to giving, praying, championing and carrying the good news of Jesus Christ to others.

Loving Relationships: We are committed to truthful, generous, and grace filled love where people are cared for and they experience the forgiveness of the cross.

In matters of faith and practice, we affirm the teachings of the Bible as summarized in our Statement of Faith.

God
1. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.

The Bible
2. We believe that God has spoken in the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors. As the verbally inspired Word of God, the Bible is without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.

The Human Condition
3. We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated from God, and under His wrath. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed.

Human Identity and Relationships
4. We believe God perfectly created men and women equal before God as persons, and established their identities as distinct and complementary in their manhood and womanhood. For our good and His glory, God created marriage as the original and foundational institution of human society, established by God as a one-flesh, covenantal union between one man and one woman that is life-long, exclusive, and generative in nature. It is not merely a public good, or a secular contract, but a divine institution to reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church. (Genesis 1:27-28, 2:18, 2:21-25; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:1-12; Hebrews 13:4; Malachi 2:14-16; Ephesians 5:22-32.)

Jesus Christ
5. We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus-Israel’s promised Messiah-was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.

The Work of Christ
6. We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for salvation.

The Holy Spirit
7. We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of its guilt. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.

The Church
8. We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head. The true church is manifest in local churches, whose membership should be composed only of believers. The Lord Jesus mandated two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which visibly and tangibly express the gospel. Though they are not the means of salvation, when celebrated by the church in genuine faith, these ordinances confirm and nourish the believer.

Christian Living
9. We believe that God’s justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor and justice for the oppressed. With God’s Word, the Spirit’s power, and fervent prayer in Christ’s name, we are to combat the spiritual forces of evil. In obedience to Christ’s commission, we are to make disciples among all people, always bearing witness to the gospel in word and deed.

Christ Return
10. We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, demands constant expectancy and, as our blessed hope, motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission.

Response and Eternal Destiny
11. We believe that God commands everyone everywhere to believe the gospel by turning to Him in repentance and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God will raise the dead bodily and judge the world, assigning the unbeliever to condemnation and eternal conscious punishment and the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth, to the praise of His glorious grace. Amen.
